Electrician FAQs for Cremorne

Cremorne homeowners ask a similar set of questions before booking, from pricing to how fast we can get there. If your question is not covered here, (02) 9160 7653 gets you a straight answer.

Common questions

Booking, Timing and Response Times

Timing questions come up more than anything else, so here is the honest version.

How fast can you get here?

Bookings run often same or next day for standard jobs, and a genuine emergency jumps the queue. This side of the harbour is a regular run for us, so the wait is rarely long.

What counts as an electrical emergency?

A burning smell, sparking, arcing, or the power dropping out completely all count. Anything that feels unsafe is worth a call rather than a wait, day or night.

How do I book?

Call (02) 9160 7653 and a real person answers, talks through what you need, and books a time. The form on our contact page works too, for after hours.

What happens after I call?

We talk through the job and lock in a slot, with a text the afternoon prior so you know we are coming. A fixed written quote lands on site before a single tool is unpacked.

Common questions

Pricing, Straight Up

Money questions deserve a plain answer, not a maybe.

What does "$50 off your first service" cover?

It comes straight off your first job with us, on top of a free written quote. No catch, and it applies to any job size, from a lone GPO to a whole-house rewire.

How do I pay?

You settle the agreed price once the work is signed off. The figure on your written quote is the figure on the invoice, with no hourly rate added on top.

How do quotes work?

A sparkie looks at the job, either on site or over the phone for simple work, and leaves you a fixed price in writing. Nothing starts until you say go.

Is the quote really free?

Yes. There is no call-out fee to get a written quote, whether you book it or not.

Common questions

Local Answers for Cremorne

A few questions we hear specifically from people who already live here.

Can you handle new builds and renovations here?

Yes, from a single new circuit to wiring a full renovation. Cremorne's mix of older houses and newer apartment fit-outs means both are a normal week for us.

What suburbs do you service?

Cremorne plus Neutral Bay, Cammeray, Kirribilli, North Sydney and Crows Nest, all on the same regular run. If your street is close by and not listed, call and ask.

How local are you, really?

Cremorne and the suburbs around it are our regular run, not an occasional detour. That is why bookings here tend to move quickly rather than waiting on a van from across the city. It helps that Primrose Park Tennis and the courts off Matora Lane sit close to jobs we already know.

Do you know Cremorne's housing stock?

Well enough to expect it. Pockets of Federation and California Bungalow homes off Cranbrook Avenue sit alongside the apartment towers ringing Military Road, and each era brings its own wiring quirks. A ceramic fuse board is common in the older houses; a strata switchboard carrying too many apartment loads is common in the newer blocks.

Common questions

Licensed, Insured and Done Properly

Standards questions matter more in this trade than most, so we answer them straight.

What is a safety switch (RCD) and do I need one?

It watches for current escaping to earth and cuts the circuit in a fraction of a second, before that leak turns into a shock. Plenty of older Cremorne homes are still missing one on every circuit, and fitting them is routine work for us.

What brands do you install?

Switchboards get Clipsal and Hager gear; lighting runs on SAL and Beacon. We fit name-brand kit rated to last, never the unbranded stuff that fails inside a year.

What is a Certificate of Compliance and do I get one?

It is the paperwork proving notifiable electrical work meets the required standard, lodged with NSW Fair Trading. You get a copy once the job is signed off.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C, fully insured, and a Master Electricians Australia member. NSW Fair Trading's licence lookup will confirm the details in seconds if you want to see for yourself.
